WHAT WE DO
Ranger Training
ESPA provides specialist bespoke training to anti-poaching units (APUs), wildlife rangers and park guards to enhance their capabilities in preventing poaching, reacting to hostile situations, and in support of the authorities so they can continue to protect at-risk species and provide essential security to local populations.
Basic, medial and advanced Ranger Training Courses:
We carry out a Consultation Phase to assess the level of training required, then assign training programmes for raw recruits lasting 90 days, or shorter courses for rangers that have previously undergone training.
The focus of these courses is to train the Rangers to a standard where they are both confident and competent at dealing with hostile situations lawfully, with due consideration for human rights, and preventing loss of life or injury. These courses are run by former Special Forces, Army and Police Officers. The courses are structured around the specific powers conferred in law upon the rangers, and will always conform to local and international law standards.
Wildlife Protection Officer Courses
Our training packages are designed to suit each protected area’s unique topography and threats, and we endeavour to carry out training needs and security analyses before embarking on any new training project to ensure it meets the protected area’s current and future requirements.
